Low Cost Airlines, Flying High!!!

1903 - The first aircraft was created and since then due to the continual reasearch and technological up gradation, today we see flights having multitude of aircraft for different purposes. There are many models of aircrafts that are being designed day in & day out. Innovations like Airbus A380 - 800, which is a passenger model (also the largest passenger airliner in the world), and some great minds working behind the wings, are the reasons for the phenomenal growth of the low cost airlines.
The competition between airliners has grown huge with the demand, and now there are over 250 airlines in the world market and over 90% of the air traffic comprises of international flights. The speed with which the economy around the world is splitting the skies, ignites a strong price competition between airlines and thus contributes to the phenomenal growth of all kinds of airlines. Also factors like employment, tourism & exports do contribute their share to the unstoppable growth. In India, the liberalization of the air travel directly benefits these factors which contribute to the country's economy and hence a good sign. This sign gets the big players to get into the competition leaving no chance for them but to enter the low cost airline segment to which has a potential to tap over 250 million odd middle class in India.
How does low-cost airline serve? A low cost airline is the most popular way to get a discounted airfare. Airlines which offer such prices club all the classes into the economy class without any 'frills'. These airlines offer prices in relation to the date of booking, the more advance the booking, the more the discount. There are many large companies in the world following this strategy and are also reliable, few in India but the number is growing. The low cost airlines aim at simplifying the travel experience to minimize the hassle of travel making a middle class passenger to think about flying before opting for other means of transport. These low cost airlines are also focusing more on the sale of tickets through commonly accessible channels like internet, which gives the passenger more control by eliminating the need of ticket counters. With the growing popularity of the low cost airlines & the increasing need of travel among people, many more airline companies are already set to take off. Many low-cost airlines now offer bundled services to corporates and usually link up a non refundable ticketing method which benefits the airline companies and also the corporates to choose a different destination every time to gather real quick.
With the young Indians who are now looking at holidays in short leisure flows, low cost airlines remain the best alternative to chill out. With more and more options available to fly, youth now are seen flocking at airports to catch their respective flights. This has made the airports look like the typical railway station which remains crowded always. Now, we can say that low cost airlines are here to stay. Welcome aboard!
